Life!

Well, now with Christmas and New Years over, it's time to get back to real life! Tom's going to be SUPER busy this semester with school, and work, and clinicals, and everything he has to do.... He's already starting to stress out a little bit, and the semester just started 2 days ago!!! Hopefully things will stay pretty easy and stress free for him!
Life is good!!! We had a special fast this last weekend and received a super inspired blessing from our hometeacher, and we feel so at peace with things right now! We know our Heavenly Father knows and loves us and that everything is in His hands.
And, I am going to start teaching Piano lessons next week (cause I'm a slacker and wasn't on the ball enough to start this week!!!) but I'll be teaching 4 or 5 kids and 1 adult!!!! I'm so excited! I love teaching and it's been a while since I've been able to!!!
Oh, and..... we are getting a new mattress on Friday... tomorrow!!!! Yahoo! We are so excited!!!
Life is good!!!!!

The Holidays!

Well, it's been a while since I've updated this blog! Life has been a little more busy since last time! Tom is still enjoying his job at the hospital, but looking for a job closer to home and one that will hopefully get him into the I.C.U. sooner! I've been working as a nanny for two little boys for just about a month now, and I love it!!! I'm really having a great time taking care of them! The family is awesome and I'm really having a fun time teaching Jacob (5 years old) how to play the piano! He is catching on SOOOOO well and quickly!!!
Life is going great for us! We were able to spend Thanksgiving in Kentucky with Ann and Matt and their girls, and we had an added bonus! Grandpa and Grandma Mecham were there visiting too, and a few of Ann's friends! So, we had a great night eating and playing games!!! We even went shooting the next day before we drove home! We had a great time! Something funny that happened was.... Jackalynn (Ann's youngest)kept sticking her tongue out and her dad said "Jack, if you keep sticking out your tongue, Tom will eat your tongue!" And up till this point, Jack didn't like Tom very well..... but after that, she was his best friend!!!! It was so funny!!! Sadly, these are the only two pictures that I got on Thanksgiving! (Plastic spoons over our eyes!) And Christmas was really fun! It was a little hard to be so far away from home and family, but we were able to do webcam video calls and so it didn't feel so much like we weren't there! Tom and I had to do things a day early because he had to work on the 25th, 26th, and 27th. =( So, we did Christmas Eve on the 23rd and Christmas day on the 24th! My parents gave us a WII, and Tom thought he was sure he knew what it was.... so I had to play a little trick on him, and on Christmas morning, he was totally surprised! We got spoiled this year! Tom enjoying his new gift! And, today, being the last sunday of the year, was the last day I had with my primary class! I was only with them for about 2 months, and they were really fun! I taught 6 six year old girls! I get to start teaching 5 seven year olds next week, and they all will be 8 this year and getting baptized!!! This is my primary class! Cute girls!!!

Baby Brody Update!

I can't believe how much little Brody changed, in just a few days!!! He is such a good little guy! We had to put him back under the billi light from Monday night until Wednesday morning, and he didn't like that too much, but he is doing much better now! His poor Mommy hasn't had a very good time since he was born. She has had an unbearable pain in her right side and no one has known how to help her. She was in so much pain that she couldn't even get up off the couch by herself and it hurt to pick up or even hold little Brody. It was a really rough week.... but I got a lot of "Brody time!" JoDee started feeling better on Wednesday night, which made it so much easier for me to leave her and come back to Ohio on Thursday.... but yesterday (Saturday) they ended up taking her to the E.R. and she was admitted last night. She spent the night and the Doctor finally came in this afternoon and they've decided, after a lot of tests, that she has pneumonia in the lower part of her right lung. That poor girl. She's got to be in the hospital on an antibiotic for 48 hours. Good thing Brody has doting Grandparents and family! Hope JoDee gets feeling real soon!

Brody Max Baltazar!

Well, Little Brody has finally arrived!!! I was on my way to Utah from Ohio when all of this was going on, so I'll tell you what I know! (JoDee will post more on her blog when she has a chance!) They arrived at the Hospital around 8:00am on Monday morning to begin the IV with the antibiotics for Group B Strep, and then later that afternoon, around 2:30, they broke her water. Throughout the rest of the day, she slowly continued dialating, and I think it was around midnight that she finally reached a 10. They had her push for almost 2 hours, and through all of this, little Brody didn't move at all. So, the doctor decided to take him C-Section, and little Brody Max Baltazar was born around 2:35am this morning, November 10, 2009! And, it's his Daddy's birthday too!!! What a great Birthday!
Brody Max is quite the kid! He weighed in at 9 lbs 14 oz, and he is 22 inches long! I don't think he'll fit into newborn clothes! And... no wonder he didn't move during labor... he couldn't fit!!!
He is adorable and we can't wait to meet him! They'll be home from the Hospital on Friday or Saturday, and it probably won't be till then because they aren't allowing many visitors at the Hospital!
We are so proud of you Brett and JoDee!!! You did a good job!

Fall in Ohio!

Well, just a little bit of an update! Not much exciting has happened since we got back from Utah, but life it great! Tom is really liking his job and it is SO fun to have him come home from work and tell me all about his day. For quite a while, he was really discouraged and doubted himself and his nursing abilities, and with not being about to find a job for several months.... but he is doing awesome now! I'm very proud of him! He is working three 12 hour shifts a week and he is on day shifts!!! We have been very blessed!!!
A few weeks ago, in church, they asked Tom to be a sub-Sunday School teacher and he has taught the last two weeks! He taught the 13-14 year old class and he absolutely loves it!!! He is so good with them and has a lot of fun.... and the kids in the class are amazing! They are very knowledgable in the gospel and have very strong testimonies! Last week, I was called to be a Primary Teacher!!! I don't know which age, yet, and I haven't started teaching because they are getting ready for their Primary Program next Sunday, but hopefully in a few Sundays I'll be a teacher!!! I have never had a calling in the Primary before! Ok, that's not true... My mom and I took care of the music in the 5th ward right after I was out of Young Womens... but this will be my first teaching position in the Primary! I am SO excited!!!
Still no luck in the job hunting business for me. =( It gets a little discouraging some days... but then I stop and think... "Look at all this time that you have to get caught up on some things and to get out and interact with the other sisters in the ward!"... and then I realize that I quite enjoy my days! I am so ready to move on to the next step in our lives... if you know what I mean... but it hasn't happened yet. So, in the meantime... I'll still keep searching for a job and doing crafts and taking care of my home and husband, and whatever is suppose to happen....WILL!
Ok! Fall has always been my favorite time of the year and I've always thought that no place on earth could beat the beautiful colors of Utah, especially in Morgan.... but then I moved to Ohio. Oh my goodness! I can not get over how beautiful it is! If I am ever having a bad day, all I have to do is go for a drive or just look outside at all the beautiful scenes the Lord blesses us with everyday, and all my troubles disapear! In Morgan, there is really only one or maybe two weeks when the colors are gorgeous, but it's been almost a month and the leaves are still changing here! I Love Fall!!! Here are a few pictures of the colors here!!!!

The most beautiful tree in town! (sadly, I don't think the picture did it justice)

Conference Weekend!

Ok, So we had the BEST Conference weekend ever! Tom and I flew home to Utah on Wednesday (09/30) and spent the whole weekend with our families! We have a very busy trip planned, so there wasn't much time to relax!
On Thursday, we took my little sisters, Mallori and Savana, Mallori's friend Broc, and my cousin Ethan to Lagoon and Frightmares! Well, we tried to do Frightmares but the lines were really long, and Ethan and I were both a little too chicken to do it!!! But, we rode all the rides almost without waiting in line! Awesome!
Then on Friday, our friends Peter and Kaity were married in the Salt Lake Temple and we were invited to go! We then spent the afternoon with Tom's family and the evening not AT the reception, but trying to find it!!! By the time we got there the food was gone and Kaity was out of her wedding dress! Oops!!
Saturday, Tom's sister, Kay, gave us tickets to the Morning Session of Conference, so we took her two oldest (Drew and Katie) with us! Tom's Bro-in-law, Kris, sings in the MoTab Choir and Kay sang in Saturday Afternoon Session! When we finally got home, we had to hurry and get things ready for my little sister's Baby Shower, that I was throwing!!! We (the girls) partied while the guys were at Priesthood Session! We had such a great turnout for the shower! Thanks everyone who came! It was a blast!
We were able to watch the first Sunday Session, and then we had to be at the airport, and we spent the rest of the day flying back to Ohio! What a weekend!
I'm excited to be able to go home, again, in a month to be with JoDee when she has her baby!!!

Birthday Surprises!

Today is my 25th Birthday! Tom is SO Sweet! He tried SO hard to surprise me with a few things and he did a great job!!! He got me some Cricut Cartridges, paper for my new Cricut (thanks Mom and Dad!) and let me buy a new temple dress. Then he came home from the store this morning with a gift card to take me to AppleBee's for dinner tonight and a really sweet card (that made me cry) and three BEAUTIFUL long-stemmed Red Roses! I was sad because I didn't have a vase, so I had to cut the stems to fit the Roses in a drinking glass!!! But, they are still beautiful! Then, he surprised me by telling me that Wicked is coming to Cleveland in November and he got us tickets!!!! I AM SO EXCITED! We've been talking about going for a very long time! Oh, let's not forget the fun Monkey Cake that we decorated together!!! We went to dinner and mini golfing tonight! What a very, very Wonderful day! Thanks Tom!
